查尔斯·罗伯特·达尔文,FRS(英语:Charles Robert Darwin,1809年2月12日-1882年4月19日)又译达尔温,英国博物学家、生物学家,达尔文早期因为地质学研究而著名,而后又提出科学证据,证明所有生物物种是由少数共同祖先,经过长时间的自然选择过程后演化而成。到了1930年代,达尔文的理论成为对演化机制的主要诠释[1],并成为现代演化思想的基础,在科学上可对生物多样性进行一致且合理的解释,是现今生物学的基石。
